Work-Life Coaching in English
TFiF is launching work-life coaching services for those looking to grow both professionally and personally. Whether you are new to working life, navigating a transition, or striving for better work-life balance, there is a coaching option for you.
These coaching services will be piloted during 2025.
About the coach
The coaching is provided by Sonja Enestam, a career coach and mental trainer specializing in well-being and sustainable leadership. Sonja holds an MSc in Engineering and a PhD in Technology from Åbo Akademi University. She has a background in research, development, and leadership in expert organizations within the industry. Individual Coaching: Entering Working Life
A work-life coaching program designed for those about to graduate, PhD students, or young professionals new to working life. The coaching is free of charge and open to all TFiF members who are currently studying, pursuing a PhD, or have graduated within the past year.
- Individual coaching sessions (1 hour each)
- Available on-site in Turku (meeting room Joule in Aurum, Henrikinkatu 2), in Vaasa (starting autumn 2025), or remotely.
What can you get support with?
- Your well-being at work – what can you influence? What matters to you? What can you expect from your employer?
- Your role as a thesis worker or PhD student
- Career planning – what do you want to work with?
- Work-life balance – how do you find a sustainable balance between work and free time?

You can cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 24 hours before your scheduled coaching session. For cancellations or reschedulings made later, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of €40 per session.
Individual Coaching: Navigating Career Transitions
A coaching program for those undergoing a transition in their career or looking to create change for improved well-being in their daily life. The coaching is open to all TFiF members.
- Individual coaching sessions (max. 5 x 1.5 hours)
- Available remotely
What can you get support with?
- Well-being in daily life and at work – stress management, recovery, and work-life balance.
- Career and transitions – career coaching, future planning, and guidance in finding your path forward.
- Performance and energy – flow, energy as a driving force, and balancing performance and expectations.
- Challenges and growth – handling workplace or personal challenges and working through change.
Participation fee
The coaching program consists of 1–5 sessions. The first session is free, and subsequent sessions are €40 per session (subsidized price for members).
The fee is paid at the time of booking each session.

Registration opens in August 2025.
You can cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 24 hours before your scheduled coaching session. For cancellations or reschedulings made later, we reserve the right to charge a €40 cancellation fee for the first free session. For subsequent sessions, refunds are only available if the cancellation is made at least 24 hours in advance.

Group Coaching: Specific Career Topics
A coaching program for those who want to discuss specific career-related topics, such as working life in Finland, well-being for (mid-level) managers, leadership across generations, or managing an overwhelming workload.
The coaching is free of charge and open to all TFiF members. Sessions are conducted in small groups to encourage reflection and experience-sharing.
- Coaching sessions (3–5 x 1.5 hours) in groups of up to 10 participants
- Sessions held every two weeks during autumn 2025
- Conducted remotely
- Group topics will be announced soon. One of the groups will be facilitated in English.

You can cancel your participation up to 24 hours before a group session. For cancellations made later, we reserve the right to charge a €40 cancellation fee per session.
